Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This policy explains what information Seatzy (“Seatzy,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use our app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Creating an account means you have read this policy and agree to it. If you have questions, email hello@seatzy.app.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and sign-in details when you create an account, including through Sign in with Apple or Google. We also store the date you accept these terms and this policy.
- Profile information: a photo you choose, your date of birth, gender, city, interests, a short bio, and anything else you add to your profile.
- Table activity: tables you host, request, or join, messages in table chats, and whether you would sit with someone again. A skip stays private to you. A mutual yes is saved on both profiles as Good Energy.
- Safety reports: if you report a person or a table, we keep the report, the reason (including bullying, theft, or an indecent photo), and the accounts involved so we can review it.
- Location: the city you enter, or your approximate location if you allow it, so we can show tables near you.
- Device and usage data: app version, device type, a push token if you allow notifications, and how you use features, so we can keep Seatzy working.
Restaurant photos and maps
When a host names a restaurant, we send that place name and its approximate location to Google Places to retrieve one photo of the restaurant. We store the photo with the table so later visits do not ask Google again. Maps and place search inside the app use Apple Maps on your phone. Your profile photo is a picture you pick from your library. We store it in Google Firebase so hosts and guests can see who is coming.
How we use information
- To run Seatzy: show tables, process seat requests, enable chats, and send reminders.
- To keep the community safe. We review reports of bullying, harassment, theft, scams, indecent or sexual photos, and other harm, and we may remove that content or the account behind it.
- To improve and fix the app.
- To contact you about your account, your tables, and important updates.
What other people can see
Your name, photo, age, city, bio, and interests can be seen by other members. The tables you host or join, and messages you send in a table chat, are visible to the other people at that table. A Good Energy match is visible on both profiles. Please share only what you’re comfortable sharing.
Sharing
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it with service providers who help us run Seatzy, when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety. Those providers include Google Firebase (accounts, database, file storage, and notifications), Google Places (restaurant photos), Apple (Sign in with Apple, Apple Maps, and notifications), and Google Sign-In if you choose it. They handle information under their own terms.
Your choices
- You can edit your profile or delete your account at any time in the app, or by emailing us.
- You can turn off location access and notifications in your device settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information. Email us and we’ll help.
Data retention and security
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Seatzy, and we delete or anonymize it when it’s no longer needed. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, but no system is perfectly secure.
Children
Seatzy is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
